Matisse to Japanese Prints: Simple designs

I have always been intrigued by the later times when Matisse made simple colorful designs from cut outs of nature like leaves, flowers, shapes. I think he developed it by making his earlier work simpler. I look at those shapes and designs a lot and tried doing my own from looking at Japanese prints. Isolating the simple shapes found in the prints then making those shapes into a print. i did a flower design I have repeated several times as it seems to capture what I was looking for.
