Peace Love Jazz Fest 2009 Shirts
Initially I designed this shirt for attendees of the New Orleans Jazz Fest but as time went buy I discovered that many towns and cities across the nation have Jazz Fests,some one day events. Being a basic shirt it works at any Fest and it sells year round to people who want a nice shirt to remember a unique event. And sales help my art studio stay afloat.

The Foundation claims to have trademark "Jazz Fest", which is a common phrase used for festivals all over the world. I seriously doubt it would hold up in Court. I am not rich enough to file suit. The Foundation has bullied printers, artists, and common folk with notice they will sue for use. Thus ZAZZLE removed any design with the phrase and some with just the words, Jazz and Fest separately. Thus hundreds of my long term designs are no longer for sale there and at other places. I have revised some designs. And will revise more. I think the Foundation is not considering New Orleans heritage with those actions. But the common folk cannot fight back those overly rich folks.

Jazz Fest Post Card
As I travel around this summer I have had the pleasure of attending little local Jazz Fests in many spots along the East Coast. Art, music, good food are presented in small local communities or neighborhoods in larger cities. It will be nice when I arrive in the Finger Lakes to see if there are wineries with music too.

New Orleans Street Performers
New Orleans Tarot Card Readers:
Street performing is associated historically with the Gypsies. Several Gypsy fortune tellers man the Tarot Card Reading Tables in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Mostly known for the Street Art, New Orleans has many fortune tellers, street musicians, and other street performers. Usually they perform for tips. Most are allowed to perform for free but painters are forced to get a license and sell only original paintings. Because they sell an object sales tax must be collected.
The street performers are interesting subjects for artists and I have painted some on occasion, most recognized is a group of good musicians on Royal St.

Royal St Musicians:New Orleans, French Quarter
Throughout the French Quarter are Street Musicians who play day and night. Many are regulars for years and excellent musicians. I painted the banjo player years ago but you can see musicians playing there today and everyday. Music fills the streets of the Quarter.
