REMOVED

The Foundation claims to have trademark "Jazz Fest", which is a common phrase used for festivals all over the world. I seriously doubt it would hold up in Court. I am not rich enough to file suit. The Foundation has bullied printers, artists, and common folk with notice they will sue for use. Thus ZAZZLE  removed any design with the phrase and some with just the words, Jazz and Fest separately. Thus hundreds of my long term designs are no longer for sale there and at other places. I have revised some designs. And will revise more. I think the Foundation is not considering New Orleans heritage with those actions. But the common folk cannot fight back those overly rich folks.

The Black Cats Krewe at Jazz Festivals

Totally New Jazz Fest Shirts & Posters

The foundation stopped my printers from selling my Jazz Fest related art. All of my past art was removed from sale. They sent a letter saying they would sue the printers. None of the printers want the grief or expense even though we all agreed the art was protected as it was my original art works. However a lawyer sent me a letter also saying the foundation would sue. They would lose in court but the expense was too great so the printers stopped. This is what the heritage of New Orleans now represents. Stopping local artists from producing art that the foundation wants the big bucks from. That is what it is all about. I sold maybe 3 or 4 prints of my art over the last 15 years making about $25, so fighting the foundation over that is not cost effective. But the public needs to know what the foundation does to stop art.

"Before Cell Phone, Transistor Radios Card"

Before Cell Phone, Transistor Radios Card
Before Cell Phone, Transistor Radios Card by figstreetstudio

Before we had the internet and cell phones we would use small transistor radios to listen to music and keep informed. Everyone should have one as a back up. When Katrina hit we could use them and not cell phones to know what was happening.

For years I have made my own Fest posters and settled on a black cat theme. So I have a cat in many designs. This year, 2016 I adopted an Art Deco style. I now have a large collection that I sell on my web pages. Take a look, its free to see.

Art Review: The Kiss by Jerry Schwehm

Thank you Rabbi Rick for the review of my abstract art on “Face to Face on Purim by Rabbi Rick Brody" on the below linked blog. He points out in several abstracts the appearance of he letter Aleph often. It is best you stop in and read it and see for yourself the now obvious. And learn the significance.

I find a lot of my abstract art sells in Europe. I guess here in New Orleans people take us artists for granted. I did several new ones. The above is my play on an artist painting himself. I tried to make some references to me, beard and hat for sure. but my eyes are too close. Famous art prints of faces.
